Academy Objectives	The STEM Academy is an open access program that offers career exploration activities and guidance to help students understand potential career paths within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Academy Description	A STEM academy is an educational institution or program that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. These academies are designed to provide specialized and rigorous instruction in STEM subjects to prepare students for careers and higher education in these fields.

Pathway Objectives	For the student that is interested in Engineering, but may not be able to participate in the AC STEM academy
Pathway Description	Designed to prepare students for employment as a technician, operator, or technologist in the fields of engineering technology, electrical technology, industrial technology, operational technology, sensor technology, automation technology, energy, robotics, and mechatronics. Degree coursework provides an industry certification for OSHA 10.

Architecture & Construction

Pathway Objectives	Students learn the principles of communicating architecture designs and increase their understanding of working drawings and construction techniques. Experiences include residential and commercial building designs, rendering, model development, and structural detail developments. Students use computer-aided drawing and design (CADD) equipment and established standards or codes to prepare models for presentation Students explore commercial, industrial, residential, public works, and institutional technologies to help them understand construction careers. Through hands-on projects, students learn proper safety procedures for tools and machinery, while exploring preconstruction and construction processes and investigating evolving technologies. Students apply mathematics concepts and principles used in construction.

Health Sciences

Pathway Objectives	Students will: gain a deeper understanding of the skills and knowledge incorporated in their health sciences field of study. benefit from specialized, project-based courses that develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. improve communication and collaborative skills. develop workplace readiness skills. gain opportunities to earn industry certifications preparing them to be more competitive in the workforce and when applying to advanced training schools or postsecondary institutions. obtain meaningful hands-on experiences in their career pathway studies. benefit from opportunities for internships, mentorships, clinical and cooperative experiences.

Information Technology

Pathway Objectives	Students will be introduced to the principles of cybersecurity, explore emerging technologies, examine threats and protective measures, and investigate the diverse high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand career opportunities in the field of cybersecurity Students will learn about the internal components of a computer, assemble a computer system, install operating systems (OS), and troubleshoot these using software tools and diagnostics. Students will gain an understanding of computer hardware and software and advanced concepts such as security, networking, scripting basics, remote access technology use, Internet of Things (IoT) device configuration, documentation and change-management best practices, disaster prevention and recovery methods, virtualization, and cloud computing.

Pathway Objectives	Students explore, handle, and perform basic functions in engine repair, automatic transmission and transaxle, manual drivetrain and axles, suspension and steering systems, and brakes. Students explore more advanced tasks in engine repair, automatic transmission and transaxle, manual drive-train and axles, suspension and steering systems, and brakes. Students learn about electrical, electronic, and HVAC systems in automobiles. Students perform automotive diagnosis and repairs in the following areas: engine repair, cooling systems, transmission and transaxle, manual drive trains and axles, suspension and steering, wheel and tire, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, HVAC, and engine performance. Students explore the principles of energy demand with an emphasis on sustainability and efficiency. Concepts include energy demand and utilization across sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation. Students apply the design process to improve facility efficiency, perform energy audits, and explore new and emerging technologies and will recognize their role as energy stewards of tomorrow. Students will explore select renewable energy technologies and gain hands-on experience in their design and function.
