Academy of Global Studies Pathways

The Global Studies pathway aims to prepare students to become global, collaborative citizens and have the knowledge, the critical thinking and problem-solving skills to be successful in today’s diverse, interconnected and ever changing world. This pathway focuses on students exploring topics such as other cultures’ practices, perspectives, history, economies, visual and performing arts and World Languages. Additionally, World Language learners benefit from improved memory and other brain functions, a better understanding of one's native language and their own identity.

Academy Description

The Global Studies pathway aims to prepare students to become global, collaborative citizens and have the knowledge, the critical thinking and problem-solving skills to be successful in today’s diverse, interconnected and ever-changing world as well as identifying career paths with an international focus.

Academy Objectives

  • Provide students with the knowledge and skills to be successful in international career paths by:
    • Exploring topics such as other cultures’ practices, perspectives, history, economies, visual and performing arts and World Languages.
    • Developing and expanding knowledge of the interconnectedness of one’s own culture and how these views and practice relate to understanding and collaborating with others.
    • Developing proficiency in one or more World Language (s) to maximize communication skills and career opportunities.
