Academy Objectives |
Education provides students who are interested in developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young children and youth with learning opportunities that prepares them for careers in the field of education, primarily in early childhood education and as PK-12 teachers. Liberal Arts aims to provide students with a broad and comprehensive education that encompasses various disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Human Services opportunities for students interested in general health care, social sciences, personal and human services. |

Academy Description |
Education Academy focuses on broad, transferable skills, it stresses understanding and demonstration of child growth and development, developmentally appropriate practices, classroom management, child abuse and neglect, and community, health, safety, nutrition and environmental issues. Real world experiences give students a glimpse into the life of a teacher as they create developmentally appropriate experiences and lesson plans as well as work with area PK-12 schools. Liberal Arts provides a comprehensive and holistic approach to learning. It offers a diverse curriculum encompassing the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. Interdisciplinary studies is a core component, allowing students to explore the interconnectedness of different subjects and gain a broader perspective on issues. Human Services focuses on academic and technical courses that focus on hands-on learning experiences that prepare students to be productive and informed community members. The goal is for students to contribute to building a better society by improving the health and well-being of individuals through direct services, advocacy, and connections to vital services. |
